Metabolic disorders due to mineral deficiency in animals are generally caused by a diet deficient in minerals, or perhaps, despite the presence of minerals, by their chemical forms being difficult to assimilate or by unfavorable relationships with each other. Therefore, in addition to emergency therapy, it is also necessary to address the causes of the disease, that is, to improve the diet and supplement the existing diet with mineral supplements rich in phosphorus and vitamins A, D, and E.

To this end, Bayer recommends the use of Catosal with vitamin B12, Vigantol ADE fort, and Calform in cows as preventatives, as well as the administration of Superbayphos and Magnaphoscal as a source of minerals.
